Annual check-up:

It is highly recommended that once a year, you should take your pet in for an overall health check-up. A skipped yearly exam can be the equivalent of not going to your family doctor for 5-8 years. This can allow major medical issues to develop in your pet. Instinct causes animals to hide their symptoms and they can sometimes appear healthy but have serious underlying medical conditions. A regular visit with your veterinarian can help reduce your pet’s stress, pain and keep them on the road to a healthy long life  This will include a full physical exam; checking like eye, ear, dental issues,  lungs, heart, lumps, and bumps, body condition, etc.

Control over your pet:

When you arrive for your pet’s scheduled appointment, please keep your dog on a leash and your cat in a carrier. Your pet may be outgoing and friendly, but some of our patients are afraid of other animals. Also, when a pet is sick or scared, he or she may not want to be friendly with other pets. For anxious or scared pets we always recommend getting some calming medications before coming for the check-up to make it a better experience for the fluffy friends.

Medical History:

During your first visit to the hospital, please bring or allow us to collect all medical records for your pet if you are moving from another area/hospital. The medical history portion of the exam is extremely important as this information helps us understand your companion’s lifestyle and any risk factors, or ongoing health issues (if any) which will determine the preventive health care best suited to his or her needs. If you’re unsure of past medical history, let us know everything that you think will be important, our veterinarian will work with any information you have. Upon getting a history and presenting a complaint of your pet, the veterinarian will perform a thorough physical examination, communicating any findings to you, and plan further diagnostic and treatment plans according to the needs of the pet by discussing with you in detail.

Referrals and Critical Care:

Depending upon some unforeseen circumstances when deemed necessary or upon your request, we can refer your pets to a university or a specialist who has advanced experience in areas such as medicine, surgery, radiology, ultrasound, or critical care at the
